OK, it's not THE Rescue Jeep that you're thinking about, but I did do a bit of Jeep rescuing.

I went 4 wheeling in my backyard after several days of rain and wet snow. I knew this area would be muddy, because it stays pretty wet even when we don't have any rain. I wasn't sure I could make it through to the other side, but of course I had to try. At best, I'd make it through. At worst, I'd have to call my father-in-law and see if his tractor could extract me.

What actually happened was something in between. Enjoy.

Here's what happens when your motor stumbles and bogs down in a mudhole.

You get stuck.

Up to the axles stuck.

A Hi-Lift isn't going to help here.

Here comes the RESCUE JEEP!!!!

Just to the right of that spare driver's seat, out of view,

is a yet-to-be-installed 8,000 lb winch.

Maybe I should work on installing it someday

Contemplating another try...

It's not as muddy as I thought it would be, but still pretty dirty. After returning to the house, I pulled both rear wheels and drums and cleaned the brakes. They weren't too bad, actually, which

made me feel better, but I was still glad I checked.

I also hosed down the entire undercarriage while the mud was still wet. Made a big mess in the driveway. Good thing it's gravel.

Extra special thanks go out to my wife for DRIVING the Rescue Jeep. She did great, even though this was the first time she had ever strapped out a stuck vehicle.
